Two major announcements.
Last week gave us Thomas Ramos's planned departure to Racing 92 on a three year deal of appealing proportions, making this season his final one in the 'rouge et noir'. Assuming he is picked for RWC 2027 (October 1 until November 13) and the 2028 Six Nations, he might not be seen much in Racing colours before late March 2028, well into his first season. Doubtless Racing are aware of this.
This week we had the announcement that Francois Cros is also making this season his last at Toulouse. He too has signed a three year deal, this one at Lyon. Much less speculation about the numbers involved, which doubtless suits a guy who operates in the shadows, but just gets through so much work. Lyon may face similar availability issues with Cros in the first of his three seasons at his new club. However competitive the fight for positions in the French team's back row may be, every back row needs a Francois Cros.
