Pierre Mignoni
His decision to leave.

He's gone!

I wasn't expecting it quite so quickly, but as flagged twice in this column in recent weeks, the Mignoni-Azema love-in at Toulon is over. Pierre Mignoni has resigned this morning.

Not a great surprise. But where's he going?

Toulon president Bernard Lemaitre spent yesterday trying to persuade Mignoni to stay.

It is Mignoni's decision to leave. But let's be clear. If he was happy with the arrangement at Toulon why leave?

So you're unhappy, you hear that someone else (as yet unnamed, but my money is on Fiji) is interested, and you instruct your agent to show interest. Hey presto! Onwards and upwards.
